    Goulburn Valley Environment Group welcomes the announcement of a Victorian Environment Assessment Council (VEAC) study into River Red Gum forests and wetlands in northern Victoria .We also wish to congratulate the government on its decision to expand the boundaries of the study area to encompass all of the riverine red gum forests and associated floodplains along the entire length of the River Murray. The revised boundaries make much more sense ecologically. We also believe that the larger study area will provide better opportunities for balanced decision-making.
